    NOT Happy

Get this- my bike was stolen couple of weeks back and found by the police not too far from my home. They took it in to impound for finger print analysis (whatever- if they even do that) and said they would ring when we could pick it up. Phoned last thur but was unable to get it straight away. Got a letter through the post demanding stating we had to pay 420 pounds to get it back. They have charged storage fee since the day they picked it up...I could have picked it up from day 1 in my van and not had to pay a bloody penny.   How do i get my money back?!! Any suggestions welcome (non violent) ...maybe
  3. B careful- I once got a ticket for parking on the pavement. ALL the motorcycle bays were full and i was flush with the curb so i could still chain it up (so not really in anyone's way). I didn't notice the ticket until a guy on a bus pointed to the front of the bike where they'd stuck it. Not happy that day
  4. yep happened to me...I came back to my bike and some nice person had turned the fuel off and put sand under my bike(the grit stuff for the roads). : ) Just started it with the throttle open....and I still had enough fuel to get home
  5. it's the hair...but their noses are different : )
  6. I got a black fzs 600 2000 6500miles 1800 squid private buy though- u been to any car auctions?- they sometimes have bikes, u pay book value- i got a car there 4 yrs ago.

  8. Didn't change the oil- had some in though! And the rear sprocket and chain are fine- the mot guy even said its the first bike he's seen in a while with the correct tension. I could change the oil and see if it makes any difference before I carry out any major work(but there is quite a clatter and me thinks something deep inside is cabooshed). Thanks for the advice.
  9. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Have a fzs600 8 yrs old 6500miles, i think this is the true mileage although now I'm not too sure, even though its spotless. It had been stood a year, had it mot'd taxed and took it to Scarborough one morning (i live in Leeds), when i got there cranking sounds coming from gearbox in first, second and the rest when i got home. Did i push her too hard too fast????! Chain was jumping on the top, so we thought it was front sprocket-looked at that-and its not. Sounds like a major strip down rebuild job- not looking forward to it. Anyone had this? From depressed.

    Just Failed

Too bad man- I feel for ya. I failed first time on my das too cost me another 350 squid. Still least u don't have to do the new style. Still it is a bummer- but not impossible. All the best with your next test- (all the best pass second time!)

Hey, It's not a legal requirement to complete a CBT to ride a moped if you obtained your car licence before 1 February 2001. Despite this, the DSA recommend that you do so.
  13. Hi kev, much of what I'd recommend has already been said- except try to lose the examiner! Thats what I got told by my instructor, if they can't see you for the next five minutes it's their loss and they can't see any mistakes you're making (if any!) About your bad back, I had similar problem- just a suggestion but I got told to grip the tank with your knees and take the weight off of your hands. Don't know if you ride like this anyway or if it will work with your height- but it might. All the best with your test even if it is the new style! It wont b that much harder.

  15. Hi james! Fazer is a good choice- I'm not biased or anything!
  16. Yeah thats what I thought. I went on moneysupermarket.com - they do comparisons in association with Tesco. My cheapest was with Bikesure- Adrian Flux. I've just taken out the policy!! I couldn't wait anymore!
  17. Im 24, i was expecting a quote for 600 or something
  18. I've been looking at what people are saying they are paying for their insurance- and it's been pretty steep. I've only been quoted fully comp 280, tptf 162. ive just passed and the bike is a fzs600 with 1 yr no claims. Is this right or am I seeing things?

Thanks dude! I don't mind you askin- I had done my cbt already so I had 4 full days (my test was at 1.30 on the 4th day). Two on a cg125 and two on a gs500. That cost 500 squid. But I failed! Then I went in for my test again just had two days, test on second day. That was 245. I got a discount of 60 after battering my eyelids- it might work for you! Quite expensive but deff worth it.
  21. Thanks guys, I have been told it will go a bit quicker than the gs500 i passed on! I'll definitely start out doing the speed limits!

Tell me about it, the council in Leeds are having real difficulty finding a spot for the new test center. They were refused planning application for an area the size of a football field that is only going to have 1 building on it, support 8 part-time staff and one full time. They deemed it "not the best use of space". W**kers

Hiya I'm a newbie too! - I heard that only 80% of instructors passed the new test. Its gonna involve a lot more control at low speeds and stuff. Figures of 8 like an ice skater Oo la la! Pirouette your self to a pass dude!!
  24. Hello Evry1! Just passed my das and I'm sooo excited! Big thanks the The LSM team in Leeds! It was my last chance b4 the new style test and I got 0 minors!! Any tips before I hit the open road?!! Becky
