revs governs how fast you are going! theres no way you could of been doing 85 mph at 10k rpm then 83 at 10.5k rpm. it doesn't make sense unless you changed the gearing. which i doubt you have. how can you do more revs but go slower??? you must have a dodgy clutch. and these bikes are restricted, they are aimed at learner drivers so must be 15bhp. the restriction is in the form of the ecu and the small bore exhausts. the ecu is programmed to be lean and the sparking is advanced/retarded so not sparking at the optimum time, so its full potential isn't met. and the exhaust has 3 catalyst apparently which won't help it exhaling. also, if you are planning to get an air induction kit aswell as an aftermarket exhaust, you would still need to set up or remap the ecu which is expensive. otherwise your mixture will end up tooo lean (to much air, not enough petrol cos the standard ecu thinks its not changed) and risk damaging the engine by 'knocking' or overheating something (melted valve heads).
  2. a plug in unit i think. like a power commander
  3. scorpion do a full system too at £250. Went down to my local dealer to have a look. Dunno how much more power you get but the bore looks big enough. Dealer said Malossi are doing a big bore kit to turn it into a 170cc and remapped cdi but that £550. Heres a pic and my bike
  4. I got a my yello/black YZF about a month ago and i've done 600miles. It's got it's first service on Tuesday. Also got the tail tidy and it looks ace. Got Double bubble smoked screen too. Think i might take the back pegs off too i love this bike. Scorpion can is meant to be good and totally unrestricted. Malossi are making a bigbore kit to go with it and a remapped CDI. that will bump it to 170cc unrestricted. pricey tho as the kit is 550 and the can is 250. dunno how mucha reworked cylinder head is. 5. Yo, I've had my r125 for about a month now. It's run in and i can push it to around 80mph. after that it's out of puff. Dealer says you can get a big bore head, re-mapped cdi, full exhaust system but that will cost you around £500+ so it's up to you whether you want to spend that on upgrades/new bike/ or insurance (cat 6 - expensive for CBT only riders). With that mod he says you easily go over a ton but there's no spec sheet yet as they are selling quickly and it's been out for only a short period of time. I reckon 110 is top speed with the gearing ultimately restricting top speed unless you change final drive sprocket. I'm pretty happy the way it is as i commute to work from outside Edinburgh (lovely roads) into Tram infested road works, pot holed ridden town centre. 500+ is a lot and you wouldn't be able to re-sell it to L drivers that easily with mods.
