  1. Yes I have been following the posts there. Have you noticed a difference in the performance, fuel economy, etc? a couple of the posts have mentioned installing a Cobra FI 2000 fuel processor, and thoughts about this ? thanks, ken
  2. Hi all! new to the forum. I finally decided to get rid of my kaw kz 1300. and decided on the v star 1300. MAN, wat a change for the good!. The kz was a polaris missle, the v star is SMOOTH, with the torque of a diesel. i love the way it handles, rides, power, etc. There is that annoying whine that i'm not really sure where exactly that it's comming from. But I can live with that. I bought the touring model with the windshield, saddle bags, and sissy bar. Now, I wish that I would have purchased the luggage rack as well! oh well, hind site is 20/20, I guess. I am waiting on the dealership to get the factory manual to me so that I can adjust the valves. I've heard that it's not the easiest thing to do, but with a little time and patience it's do able. Iv'e just past the 1000 mile mark and did the oil change at 600 mile as recomended. So far i REALLY like this bike! It's really comfortable to ride, I mainly bought it to ride to work, a 65 mile round trip per day. I just can't seem to keep my butt off of the seat, even when I'm not at work. I am really looking forward to having the bike compleatly broken in so that I can see just what kind of performance this bike puts out. Any way, Hi to all! ken
  3. Hi all! I also just bought my v star 1300 a couple of weeks ago and already have over 1000 miles on her. I did the oil change at 600 miles, and am waiting of the dealership to get my factory manual to me. I plan on doing as much work on this bike as I Have always done in the past to all of my bikes. ?It sounds like adjusting the valves is quite an ordeal. I'm sure that after you have done it a time or 2 it wouldn't be to bad. So far, I REALLY LIKE THIS BIKE!!!!!!I can't wait to get the manual, so that i can start reading up on the "corrrect way" of doing things. Thanks, ken
  4. Hi all! I'm new here to this forum. I Finally sold my 81' kaw Kz 1300. And i now ride the v star 1300. MAN, am I happy with the change. My v star is soooooo MUCH SMOooOOOOther. ( not to mention it don't break down on almost every ride). I ride my bike 32 miles one way each day to work. I bought my 1300 2 weeks ago and just can't keep my butt of of the seat. I've already put over 1500 miles on it!! I REALLY LIKE THIS BIKE! It doesn't have the brute power that the kaw 1300 did, but it has the torque more like a diesel. My first extra will be putting a luggage rack on it. (have to put my lunch box and hard hat somewhere), and they won't fit into the saddle bags. Any one have any suggestions on where to look or who has a decient price? thanks, Ken
