  1. I still swear by the Uvex enduro helmet, reasonably priced too. Just bought a new Suomey for the r6 though and absolutely love it!
  2. I like it but agree about the exhaust.
  3. I managed 5000miles out of a rear ac10, was completely squared off though. It was a bit sketchy on the road at first but iv found all off road tyres are, just take it easy at first. I never had any problems in the wet either, just dont grab a big handful of the brakes but that goes for any tyre i guess. I used to ride 150 miles on the road a week and probably less than 10 miles off road a week and it lasted pretty well. Looks good too =)
  4. Mich AC10 on the rear, mitas ef08 on the front. Brilliant off road, been through a couple of sets on a dt. Tried the mitas co2 but was just too big and rubbed on the crap flap otherwise would have recommended that. These tyres were used in muddy essex and kent lanes to rocky welsh vallies and were fine. If youre riding more rocks though id stick a trials tyre on the rear instead of an enduro type.
  5. I was the same, my renewal was around £100 more as well, done a bit of searching around and ended up with the same company but over £100 cheaper than the year before! That means they were trying to charge me £200 more than what I am now paying!!
  6. Sorry i didnt mean keep the XT for two years, i meant theres no rush in getting something like a wr450f. Id recomend a bigger bike for sure but not something too OTT, id still go with a ccm 404 over a drz though as its just a better all round bike. Check them out, still uses the drz-e engine to but has all round wp suspension and looks like a crf.
  7. They look like the standard ones from a dt? I think i paid around £15 for some mini arrow head indicators with normal bulbs and no leds from M&P.
  8. Sounds like a blocked jet or maybe an air leak?
  9. Would be a pain the arse if you needed to have the stem pressed in. It may also mess up the handling of the bike as they will most likely be a different length stanchion. If its just for looks i personally wouldnt bother.
  10. If you have a relay and can fix them to the bike then they will work! All that will happen without an LED relay or resistors is that they will flash a lot quicker than they should.
  11. Does sound like valves just tapping to me, no harm in getting them checked out anyway. Doesnt sound like a bottom end thats for sure so thats one good thing! Nice bike by the way.
  12. Hmm im not sure if its possible but if the guy still has the log book and the engine number matches up could you not have the VIN number re stamped? Im guessing if not then you would have to take the police records with you to prove its now recovered to get an MOT? I also thought that the police examine recovered vehicled and re marked them in one way or another? Probably not much help sorry but i thought id put that out there.
  13. Its to stop people going out and jumping on a restricted r6, gsxr etc from something like a cbr 125... as thats f'in dangerous, restricted sports bikes are less ridable as it messes up the power delivery. Quite a few manufacturers are/have released bikes to fit in with the new regulations, might be worth checking some of them out like the cbr 500 which claims 46.6bhp. Also the wr250r/x would be fine and so would something like a drz / CCM 404? Whats the rush? You dont need tonnes of power to have fun on a bike. By the way for my two year restriction i just kept my DT as it was more than enough and done everything i needed from a bike. That was probably only 20 odd bhp but i loved it!
  14. It might of been a different breakdown company that was used on my policy? I dont know, bare in mind it was a good 3 years ago now and was just making sure you knew what you were sold.
  15. When i get some spare time away from work i tend to just work on my portfolio/showreel. Generally taking CAD pictures like the one above and making 3D models of them, this is my most recent one in progress: Wanting to get into racing enduros or rallies at some point too, need another dirt bike first!
  16. Looks cool as it is. Black would be cool but more money for no gain.
  17. I had mce in the past and noticed the free breakdown cover, just be aware that they will only pick you up it you are within 20 miles (maybe less) of your home address.
  18. Iv recently had to renew my insurance and as usual went on on the price comparison sites to see whats about. My cheapest quote from them all was around £220.00 which I thought was okay but was about the same amount that I had paid the previous year. I then went direct to Bennetts and filled out a quote with all the same details and it came back at £125.00! Soo has anyone else noticed that it seems to be worth while going around insurers sites and seeing what they can offer instead of the price comparison sites? It seems to have saved me a fair bit of money as Bennetts wanted around £250.00 on comparethemarket. It seems insurers are either taking advantage of people being a bit lazy or the comparison sites are earning more than I first thought!
  19. The lenses are clear on standard dt re indicators.

    DUCATI 996

Id have that in a heart beat.
  21. Its only a 2 stroke 125 so it wont have any bottom end, all the power is up the rev range in the power band. You can still lift the front easily on the throttle in 1st and clutch it up in 2nd, it just takes some practise.
  22. I done my test in the middle of December, i actually got it done for cheaper than usual because they didnt have many customer that time of year. Yeah it was a bit icey the day of my test but im sure my test was also shorter than it should have been! Only went on for around 20minutes! So theres pros and cons of booking it this time of year =)
  23. Yeah i prefer chain wax as it doesnt fling like chain lube. I used to use old engine oil on my dt but it gets messy and goes everywhere, you also have to apply it more often.
  24. I tend to lube the chain after every ride but every ride is usually 150 miles each way. It gets lubed after i wash it too or been ridden in the wet, also make sure the chain is always adjusted properly otherwise it will wear out quicker still. I dont use brushes, i just spray the chain cleaner on, leave for 5mins then just use a nice old rag to get the crap off. I then generously coat the chain with wax after, youre better off lubing the chain after a ride when the chain is warm as itl take in more lube than when its cold which again will make it last longer.
