  1. Hi, Thinking of buying a clean example of the above - 26K on the clock with a bit of service history - clean enough. Anyone know of anything I should look out for pls ?
  2. Thanks - thought so but nice to have it confirmed.
  3. The Haynes manual shows the FZR600 3HE cams clearly marked 'In' & 'Ex' but my FZR600R 4JH only has 'E' marked on one of them & I can't make out what the other mark is. The local Yamaha dealer doesn't know ! Anyone know for sure if the attached photo is the exhaust cam pls ? Thanks.
  4. Thanks Cynic, Are these US Yamaha FZR600 parts lists ? If so, didn't the US equivalent of the UK FZR600 3HE (Mark 1 model if you like) sell in the US until 1996 ? If so, I'm wondering if BOTH of these attached parts lists relate to the mark 1 FZR600 (UK FZR600 3HE model) & not mine which is the mark 2 (UK FZR600R 4JH model) sold from 1994 - 1995 (in the UK) ? Grateful for any clarification ? Kawasakifreak

  6. Hi, I'm after a replacement rear wheel for my 1995 FZR600R 4JH. The seller of ebay uk item number: 160386180769 insists this wheel came off a 4JH model from 1993 - stating this model was sold elsewhere in the world from 1993. I thought the 4JH model wasn't first sold until 1994 ? Does anyone know for sure ? I don't want to buy the wrong wheel. Thanks, Kawasakifreak
  7. Hi, I've had the head off my bike because it didn't run on no. 2 cylinder & coolant was mixing with the oil. The head was fine (no warping) & no valve leaks so I put it back together with a new Yamaha head gasket - everything correctly torqued. Now it doesn't run on no. 4 cylinder & coolant's still in the oil. Anyone know if the heat exchanger is known to leak on these models ? Any suggestions appreciated - thanks.
  8. Thanks - checked spark on cylinders 3 & 4 with a diode - good spark on both !? I don't understand why cylinder 4 won't fire ? Kawasakifreak
  9. Hi, Had the head off my FZR foxeye - all back together & fired it up yesterday - running only on cylinders 1, 2 & 3 but not 4. Changed the plug on cylinder 4 tonight but still no joy. Checked & re-checked all connections. Any ideas would be appreciated ? Cheers, Kawasakifreak
  10. Cams set in photo with no 1 cylinder on tdc compression - are the cam positions correct for the FZR600R 4JH ? The cam bearings each have unique patterns of locating dowels which only seem to fit one way. The exhaust cam bearing timing marker is @ the twelve o'clock position to line up with the timing marker on the exhaust cam. The inlet cam bearing timing marker is @ the one o'clock position to line up with the timing marker on the inlet cam. The Haynes manual states both timing markers should position @ 12 o'clock with both cams but the engine jams when I try this whilst manually turning the crank !! The Haynes manual photos appear to relate to a different engine (possibly the 1989 - 93 FZR600 or YZF750R) ? Any suggestions would be appreciated ? Kawasakifreak
  11. Hi, Anyone remember servicing the top-end on this model ? Kawasakifreak
  12. I've replaced the head gasket on my FZR600R but the I don't know which cam is which. The Haynes is useless - any better manuals on-line out there ?
  13. Hi, I'm trying to balance the carbs on my 1995 FZR600R but need some advise. How do you access the vacuum points which are inaccessible in situ (behind the choke cable assembly) without removing the carbs ? Ta, Kawasakifreak
  14. I've seen a 95 FZR600R (Foxeye) model with brake calipers which looked identical to the R1's - the owner wasn't near so I couldn't find out - they may have been off a 98 - 02 Fazer 600 though !? Kawasakifreak
  15. Unfortunately, the throttle stop screw/idle adjuster was the first thing I tried to adjust - only to find it was on max to start with ! Kawasakifreak
