Hi there folks Just found found this great looking forum & thought i'd register to pick up some tips & advice for my forthcoming adventures. My bike history is nothing (barring hiring a scrambler type bike for a day on a Greek isle some 25 years ago in my youth ha ha) but i've just booked my cbt for about 3 weeks time !!! The main reason is that i'm sick of spending nearly £70 to fill my car up for about 300 odd miles & i drive about 200+ miles per week commuting, so figured what the hell have i got to lose ?? I'm about to order a spanking new YBR125 in black from my local dealer to pick up on march 1st & hopefully that should see me right for…

Hello people, another newbie to the forum. Recently bought an Xj6 Naked (black) on the 60 finance package. Upgraded from a YZF-R125 after passing my direct access. I'm already missing the 125, the sporty look and feel. But not anywhere near enough power and was pretty hard on the wrists. Not actually riden the XJ6 yet, bought it and its been parked in the garage until better weather. Should be a pretty sweet ride though. Inexperienced new rider on a new 600 on new tyres in wet weather. =S Bring on the nice weather already!! Let the fun begin!

Hello all! I thought I should introduce myself before I leave it too long and forget. I am restoring an XJ 600 after 10 years in storage with the intention of using it for commuting and generally running about. It is my return to biking after about 5 years off and is nearly ready for the road, but not quite. It's also my first restoration project (minimum effort due to time and cost ) I have written up my exploits on a blog. I have tried to write up the downs as well as the ups as I think its important to be honest. I hope I can help someone with my experiences, but it would be nice to have a working bike to give me some credibility! Looking forward …

Hi, am just warning anyone else out there that is looking for a rd500 that the one listed on ebay at minute is recorded as a total insurance loss. I am on the market for a 500 at minute but do not want to pay the telephone figures dealers are asking for rzv's so this looked tempting, knew it would be a strip and rebuild job but wasn't expecting this- cost me £20 to hpi-scum*****r. rides like a beauty ha ha. The item no is: 160541878689.

Hey all, I am new to this forum, joined because I just acquired a 1978 XS 400 from my dad. It was his old bike and hasnt ridden it for 20+ years so I asked if I could have it. Now its my job to restore it and then I want to mod it into a cafe racer. I have 4 years of riding experience. I started with a 2006 Honda CBR 600RR, got hit on that so now I have a 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 and love it! I cant wait to get into my build and really learn about it all as I go along. I want to get it in inpsectable condition first so I can get it tagged easier. Edit: Here are some pics of it in my dads shed. It was left in that spot since the last day he rode it and noth…

Greetings fellow bikers! I'm new to the YOC but have been a bike owner since I was 13. I bought my first Yamaha in 1970. It was a DT1B 1969 250 enduro. I just turned 54 on Monday, and being happily divorced, I now own a small heard of early 70's Yamaha 360 enduros. (a 1972 RT2, 2 1973 RT3's and a 74 DT360) I'm here in pursuit of knowledge, guidance and fellowship as I'm embarking on my first restoration effort. I've looked around a bit and like what I see here very much. Looking forward to spending more time here as the projects progress. Thanks in advance for viewing.

Hi Guys, As you've probably gathered by the username my name's Ben. I'm currently riding a YZF-750 R, which is this summer's project. Complete strip and rebuild to get the beauty back to her best. I'll post some pics of the bike in its current rough state when i get em off my phone and onto my computer for you guys to laugh at. After having a break from yammy's and riding a gsx-r for a while I couldn't believe how good the YZF 750 felt to ride compared to the big fat suzy. Especially because i didn't give a massive amount for the yammy (thank you eBay). Hope to speak to and get to know you guys soon, and any comments for what to look out for with the bike would be muc…

Just a quick hello to all. Have been a biker on and off since the mid 60s. I have had an 1980 Rd200 & 1980 XS250 donated to me (both partially stripped). I am in the process of putting them back together, not aiming for show quality more of presentable. I am not working now so have some time on my hands. regards Mick
