I'm a very new rider - been on the road for about a month. My name is Miguel, I'm 19 and I live in the far reaches of that wonderful place known as Essex. Anyway, I came here because I will be needing probably quite a bit of advice on my bike. I picked it up rather cheap and as life will tell you.. you get what you pay for. The model is a 1997 (I was told, think it might be '98. Not sure there) Yamaha Virago XV 125. I don't mind that it needs work, in fact I prefer this as it gives me a chance to get to know my bike as well as to get general experience with tinkering and the like. It's something I'm quite enthusiastic about. The girl certainly has character anyway,…

The bike i purchased has a starting problems and i have got most of the parts i need to sort this but the previous owner had taken the fuel tank off and has not replaced the fuel pipes back onto the bike. Can someone please tell me which pipes should be connected to what on the fuel tap and the pump? If i look at the fuel tap it has 3 connectors, top middle and botto…

Hi All I just inherited a very well looked after DT 125 LC 1985-86 model I think owners manual has 1986 printed on it. Does need an engine rebuild but the rest is in great nic for a 25 year old. So the problem is this bike was never imported to Australia. It was brought over from Europe by the original owner, Who gave it to me. The Frame Number is 1HR-031323 engine number 1HR- something something. cant read it. My question is can any one tell me what model etc to look for when traking down parts. Is it a Mk3, 35A, Mk2? Accourding to the owners manual 1hr is the model identification but nwhen I look for parts on ebay etc I cant find this mentioned. Any help is good to h…

Hi guys, long time lurker. I have received plenty from the site already and look forward to being able to give anything back if I can. Current bikes are: 1976 FS1E 1979 XS 400 Custom 1979 XS 400 1984 XS 400 DOHC 1978 XS 250 x2 1979 XS 250 1982 XV 750 2004 TTR 250 And (there is always one Black Sheep) a 1979 Suzuki GT250X7 I probably have some more log books that have come with the masses of spares I have collected to keep them going. I cannot afford to keep them all on the road but always have at least three ready for those rare sunny days.

Hey everyone, I just thought I would do the mandatory introduction. I have an 07 Red R6 that I endearingly (and sometimes spitefully) refer to as "The Red Devil". We have a love-hate relationship that has been thriving for about 2 years now. There have been times where I've considered getting rid of her, but like a battered spouse I continually come back. I see great potential in her and hope that one day she will seek therapy and resolve her issues independently; because the problem is all hers, not mine. However, I must remember that there are two of us in this relationship and with that being said I am here, introducing myself and doing my part. Then again, perhap…

I am thinking of changing the exhaust to a 4 into 1 for my 1997 XJ 900 Diversion. Has anyone done this and if so, was there any improvement in performance? Hard to improve perfection I know! Thanks, Ben

Hey all . This is the end of my first year on both bikes and computers. I have fallen madly in love with bikes but the pc lover in me still has a way to go to be competent. I was spurred on to get my license by my amazing bike riding wife and we have never looked back. :0) I do have a question that i hope this site and you lovely people can help me with. I am in the process of turning my Dragstar 650 into a bobber and and wonder if anyone knows if there is a front controls wiring extension kit out there to allow me to stick a very sexy set of ape hangers on. Any help you can offer would be amazing . easy life all :0)

Hi, Total Newbie here looking for advice. I've been wanting to buy and build a bike for as long as I can remember. I'm thinking a cross between a cafe, bobber, and definitely all rat. I guess this inspiration was sparked the first time I watched Mad Max and furthered by my brother's recent aquisition of an old CB550 for $50. Anyway, I've found a '74 RD200 on craigslist for $450 that I think I can get it for $300 since it's not titled. Is it worth it? I want to use it to get to work and to just have some overall fun messin with/ riding it. My commute is 40 mi 1 way so gas mileage is a concern. But since I'm currently putting over $100 weekly in the tank of my Jeep any…

Hey everyone! My name is Chris, and I live in Southampton. I bought a Yamaha Town mate T80 last year for £20, in VERY bad condition. It's my goal to make it run again! I'm 22, and at college doing an Access course. It's boring as. I can have a bit of a sick sense of humor and apparently I flirt a lot. Meh. I love to fix things and make stuff work, and I'll always take a look at stuff, see what's wrong xD Things I have fixed: *Numerous PC faults for loads of people *A washing machine (I don't know how tho :| ) *An Xbox 360 *My crappy Chinese moped (loads of carb and fuel line problems, throttle cable snaps (TWO OF THEM IN 7…
