hi all. im new to bikes, just got myself a little 50cc scooter at the grand age of 36. i dont even get 1mph for each year of my life, as its struggles at 30mph, even tho i de-restricted it, but i guess my 16stone is not helping matters. just need something that will do about 50mph for now. looking to get myself a 125cc dragstar, to see me through the next year atleast, then will go for my das. (only doing it really because my old man says he's left me his electra glide and fat boy in his will) just not got the time to do it at the moment, what with being a bus driver and having 3 young kids. are there any dragstar owners around wokingham , berk…

Hi all Need some advice - I want to change the exhausts on my dragstar 650 (W Reg) to get a better sound. I have kitted the bike out with touring gear - screen, panniers, luggage etc etc but the sound just doesnt do it justice! I like the look of the long 'shot gun' type exhausts and they sound nice too. I think my choices come down to either: 1) Highway Hawk double walls 2) Vance & Hines Short shots (as they don't do long shots for my bike!) 3) Cobra pipes (??) 4) Roadhouse 65 special, slip on. I have been recommended the V&H or the Roadhouse over the others, but i would love to hear from anyone who has done something similar to their bike to get…

Having just spoken to a very nice man called Richard at Chorley Yamaha Centre, he has reliably informed me that the SPANKIN NEW XVS950 Midnight Star is due in the UK mid February at an approximate price of £6399 OTR. (VERY fookin cheap!) He is gonna call me when they themselves get one in so i can go take a look and have a test ride Richard - You are indeed a top bloke

Hello, My bike (XVS Dragstar 125) has recently started losing power when I'm pulling away from lights etc. I'll explain what happens. I start the bike, in the morning or the afternoon/evening and let it warm up for as long as I can without getting really bored. When I pull away it moves but not anywhere near as fast as it should do, almost dangerously slow. The only way I get it to start working properly is by blipping the throttle and then it suddenly kicks in to life but even then sometimes when I change from 1st to 2nd the power can go and I lose acceleration, it feels like the fuel isn't getting through or something, this is really doing my head in, someone please he…

Yamahas especially the touring bikes are lame imitations of a truely great motorcycle. and a YAMAHA will NEVER be a Harley. I thought I'd poke my head in this lame forum to see whats up,......but its all wannabees,...posers,...wimps,.....and you people KNOW its true. Stay off the road with real bikers.

Hi all, I bought a complete "new" rear wheel/tyre for my Dragstar after my original wheel had 2 broken off spokes...I said "new" because it was second hand but had never been used on the other bike, the guy had bought his Dragstar to trike it and I got a "new" wheel, but I had to tighten the spokes first and then 6-9 months later I had noticed they were loose again. They are clean and they still look brand new, is there anything I can do or any product I can use to "glue" them or threadlock them? Or do I need new spokes? Thanks

Anyone can advise on good on-line shops that sell original Star Yamaha chrome accessories for the 650 classic. I always tend to get from the US but now with the Dollar Vs Euro and with the UK Vat going to 15% I think I will have to reconsider

hi there, has anyone had trouble with the drive shaft on their xvs650. Mine sheared at the input to the drive hub and has stripped the splines inside the shaft. Been quoted £900 for a new one. Wouldn't mind but have only done 14000miles and bike is only 6 years old.

Hi Am in desperate need of some information regarding the Yamaha Enticer 125cc..... I have recently bought the bike with the intention of fixing it up as a bike to learn on,,, but i have found out the bike was made in India, and no one in the UK can give me any advice on parts, as most have never even heard of it. The bike has suffered some front end damage and new forks and wheel are needed...... Question..... Is there another bike that has the same fork measurements... My yolk size is 30mm hole and 185mm centres, the yolk stem is also 30mm. It may be possible to buy a complete front end from another bike if the stem is the same size,, i was told the virago xv 125 ma…
