A plane carrying Ethiopians has crashed into shark infested waters in The Med. Early reports say that at least 40 sharks, 12 jelly fish and an octopus were eaten alive before rescuers could reach the scene.

  3. So I'm supposed to be going to Leiden in August to meet up with some pals, we try do this once a year or so. Now that I have my grown-up bike, it seems like an ideal opportunity for a little road-trip. I have two choices really, with the current availability of transport: Ferry: Dover-Calais Should cost about £150 in tickets and fuel, about 650 miles of riding in total (half on Friday, half on Sunday) EuroStar: Dover-Calais Should cost about £120 in tickets and fuel, about 550 miles of riding in total (half on Friday, half on Sunday) Those are the direct routes using mostly motorways etc. I'll probably end up ditching that plan and go on more interest…

I know most of us here are expeienced rideres etc and aware of the dangers of motorcycling but please be careful out there everyone, this comes about as i ws returning home from a shopping trip with the missus on monday and came upon a fatal accident involving a bike. it looked as though the rider had taken the bend too fast and ploughed into the side on an oncoming car, Passing the scene again yesterday the police were searching the area high up the hedge for something. It has made me think this ws not a R1 or anyother plastic rocket it was a big scooter, it would also appar the rider was only wearing at shirt and shorts, so please be careful and if yuo wanna go like …

I've recently brought a Yamaha Xt125x 09 plate and its been fine for a week but the other day I rode about 20miles, stopped off at the shop in my village and then rode down towards my house about 20secs down the road with the choke on because I like to start it with the choke on and forgot to take it off again but anyway I got 20secs down the road and it just bogged out and died. After a trying to start a few times it went using the kick start so I thought it was fine except when I pressed the electric start it made a buzzing noise from under the seat (i have very few mechanical skills so not sure what it is hence this post) I rode it home and then about an hour later I w…

Hello every one. I'm hoping you Gentlemen (and Ladies) can advise me? I'm thinking of buying a new Fazer 1000, so I'm looking for any owner advise. Stuff like how they ride, reliability issues, fuelling; which I understand may be a problem, etc etc ........... I'm not a youngster so unlikely to make the most of the performance, but I do like the look of the bike. Many thanks in advance. STEVE.................

  17. I just bought a 1996 XJ600 Seca II With 8,000 miles on it. When I got it it tried starting but wouldn't (carbs needed cleaned). Yesterday I spent all day very thoroughly cleaning the carbs, gas tank, petcock, blasted out all the fuel lines. I then reassembled it and tried to start it, I had to try cranking it for almost 20 minutes before finally it started. I rode it about 80 miles last night then parked it. This morning I go out to get on it and it wont start, Ive checked the ignition system and I have good spark on all 4 plugs. Tried jumping it off (in case the brand new battery was weak), didn't help. I definitely have fuel being pumped from the tank into the carbs and…

I'm 19 and when I turned 16 I did my CBT so I could ride a moped. Obviously the CBT has now expired but when it was valid I passed my driving test. Do i need to do another boring CBT? I've heard different stories some saying I do and some saying I don't. Please help!

  19. Westminster Council have decided to start charging for parking in motorcycle bays... £1.50/day It's in 'trial' for 3 months and so far it hasn't been well-received by bikers for obvious reasons. My gripe is that a residents car parking permit costs £115 for the year, a bike is £150 for the year (limited to motorcycle bays, no discount for residents). How can this be fair? If this might afftect you PLEASE take 2 mins to drop an email to the address below and COMPLAIN (very un-British!) [email protected] I am told the scheme will go ahead unless there is 'significant resistance' from motorcyclists. This will come in the form of complaints so…

  20. Hello I'm just wondering if anyone could help me as I was riding my Yamaha Xt125x the other day and it randomly decided to bog out and die. I thought it might be because I was a little low on fuel and was riding with the choke on at the time. After a bit of fiddling I have managed to get it started fine (with kick start only) but then 20mins later I tried again and the button start worked and started first time so I've rode home and locked it away for the night but when I went out the next morning there was nothing and wouldn't start on either kick start or button start all the lights are on but when you use the button start they all dim maybe even go out and something (a…
