Hello to all, Just introducing myself to you all, My name is Andrew, I am from The East Midlands, I have a red Yamaha RXS100 which I purchased 3 months ago after having an old honda 16 years ago which had to go when the wife said!!!. The RXS was a bike I always admired and when I saw her I was in love again. she has 30,000 but has had two very carefull owners, the last who replaced any piece of crome showing any signs of wear (mr.perfectionist). The bike has and will be kept dry as I only use the bike for pleasure. CBT was a bind as I never needed one with my first bikes (D.S.A. £ ???) Taken CBT ... july 08 Theory ... july 08 Regards, Romec…

Hi all, Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. After 7 years of nagging, the wife has finally relented and let me get another bike, Woohoo!! My last bike was a fzr1000 genesis, which I loved to bits so I just bought a '89 FZR600 genesis, (you're not having anything bigger than a 600.... yes dear!!). URL=http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/3/9/6/f_DSCF0017m_9fe1b3f.jpg&srv=img27] Anyways, as you can see, she was in a bit of a state (bike not wife... tho now you mention it), so, 10 days, lots of stripping cleaning renewing and painting later..... and she's looking pretty good, yes thats the kitchen, yes I'm in trouble, big time!! …

Hi to all the Yamaha club folk. Name's Matt from Lancashire. Just taken my CBT ( August 29th ) at the age of 36! Bought a new YBR125, aim to ride that for the next couple of years to gain confidence and improve my roadcraft prior to doing my full test. Had never rode uptil this summer - having promised myself for the last four I would learn!! Loved every minute of my CBT ( even my instructor yelling at me! ).Bought my bike a week later which arrived five days ago but have only been out today as the weather has been awful and today was my first day off work!! The only concern I have had had so far is it seems really tight between my left foot rest and gear shift…

Just a quick line to say thanks to "oldgitonabike" and "R4v" for their sound advice re adjusting splines - I'm so new to this I at first thought it was a typo should be "spines"!!! Had them adjusted as recommended - it has made a great improvement - can get my foot under the gear lever properly now!! It is fantastic that newbe's such as myself can get good, sound advice from forum members without feeling like a muppet of the highest order. Any how many thanks and I look forward to more help when I ask what are probably very basic questions without the feeling of total inadequacy. We've all got to start somewhere!! Regards, Matt

Hi guys sorry i'm new here and in need of help i'll try and give you as much info as i know. I have managed to purchase the only R1 Carbon Checa ever built buy Q8 Carbon in Day Glow orange marlboro colours. its a 2000 w with only 300 genuine miles on the clock. the person who sold the bike is innocent i believe but after doing only 117 miles the back wheel locked up and nearly threw me off. i've had a yamaha mechanic strip the engine to find that someone had put sand into the engine threw the oil filler meaning that the engine is now scrap. i spoke to yamaha this morning who have advised me that it will cost in the region of 4.5k to repair as they dont sell new engines. …

Guys / Girls, I've just been given a screen that a friend had on his Intruder, but the simpleton sold the bike with the brackets! He's now travelling the world and I'm left wondering how to attach said screen to my 04 XVS650 Dragstar Classic. It has Renegade Styling on a small sticker on the glass but other than that I know nothing about it. It’s your standard cruiser style big windshield and only has two holes on plates pointing backwards on either side. Is there a universal fitting fit you can buy or should I cut my losses and just buy a whole new screen? ANY help would be welcome guys / girls – Planning on doing more long distance riding and the screen su…

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Have a fzs600 8 yrs old 6500miles, i think this is the true mileage although now I'm not too sure, even though its spotless. It had been stood a year, had it mot'd taxed and took it to Scarborough one morning (i live in Leeds), when i got there cranking sounds coming from gearbox in first, second and the rest when i got home. Did i push her too hard too fast????! Chain was jumping on the top, so we thought it was front sprocket-looked at that-and its not. Sounds like a major strip down rebuild job- not looking forward to it. Anyone had this? From depressed.

Hi All, I'm posting this following a discussion on the Yahoo! Radian group (so some people will already have seen this). I've just had tubes put in my tyres. They were constantly losing pressure - got even worse in the cold weather, to the point they lost about 1/3 pressure inside a couple of days. There were no obvious defects or leaks from the valves or rims (and it was both tyres) - tried the soapy water trick and new valves and no joy. As a result, I've had tubes put in the tyres - and some folks are saying it's a bad idea because of the fact that the tubes will heat up quicker than the tyres. Anyone got any wisdom/experience to share on this? TIA
