MT-03 660 - Drive Sprocket Removal
Bourneriver replied to Bourneriver's topic in New Members Welcome Area
Hello Thanks for your reply. Picture attached. No protruding thread but looking at You Tube videos for other bikes (inc. XT660) they are all right-hand threads, so suspect mine is too, I think now that its just very tight. Asking around a friend has said he had similar when a bike shop fitted his sprocket with a pneumatic impact gun - suggests over-torqueing which is a worry. I didn't own the bike when my sprocket was fitted so can't be sure. May have to talk to my friendly MOT garage and see if they can get it off. It's that or drill the nut and split it -

Suitable for Yamaha mt-09/fz-09 gen3 2020 onwards only. Removed from trade in works great with all aftermarket upgrades like filters, exhausts, de-cats, cheaper than a fixed tune that would need constant retune after every change to the bike, constantly making tuning adaptions no matter the mod for ultimate best fueling for more power and torque and a smoother throttle response at low revs and full. EVO - Plug & play control module & wiring harness Rapid Bike EVO exclusive add-on module puts in your hands total control of fueling operations as it is directly connected to all stock injectors (up to eight) while managing at the same time the corresponding air/fuel ratio. In this way the carburetion values can be modified throughout the entire engine power delivery curve. The ability to manage stock lambda sensor signal allows performing the exclusive auto-adaptive feature to secure that fueling is constantly adjusted while riding the vehicle. The injection map becomes a dynamic value in order to match the changing weather conditions and driving style. This function is highly beneficial at low and medium rpm where the engine performance is poorly limited due to more and more restrictive anti-polluting regulations. Rapid Bike's modules utilise the lambda sensor allowing for a drastic improvement of engine performance and fuel efficiency across the entire rpm range, especially in the closed loop section. All kits come with wiring harness and instruction manual.EVO: With auto-adaptive technology the map is constantly adjusted while riding the vehicle. Connected via the bike specific wiring harness and with free downloadable software the adjustable map can be modified throughout the entire power delivery curve. Will include full install instruction manual. Same day postage. PM me for postage cost180.00 GBP

MT-03 660 - Drive Sprocket Removal
Snakebite68 replied to Bourneriver's topic in New Members Welcome Area
There should be enough of the thread sticking out for you to see whether it's a left or right hand thread. A picture of the offending item would help here... -
Hi Everyone I'm Richard a new member from the UK Trying to remove the drive sprocket on my 2011 MT-03 660. Bent back the tabs on the tab washer but I can't seem to budge the nut. Don't have a pneumatic impact gun so using a 2 ft long bar, person on bike, both brakes on. Still no-go so I'm wondering if its a left hand thread or there's a trick I'm missing? Don't want to use heat as I have an O-Ring chain, plus not sure if there is a nearby output shaft seal or similar. Any suggestions gratefully received. Richard

Aaah, you found a cheaper one than I did NEO, but yes, both options are out there, apparently only as a 3rd party item...
-
Well, the good news is a SissyBar is indeed available for 2000 to 2005 models bad news...not cheap! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374879990826?itmmeta=01HW004KJQAFSN3135SP9XB8RD&hash=item574896b42a:g:egoAAOSw4vNkIWZb&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0G8DXxuvcuTkSOjSqvVeE%2BX%2FdCwJp2qK4dG1%2FgE9F%2F4QQ1K%2FWfuIIN7MoaQAgl3UhtSncHbTCbvUOJ3CxMuPe6Lm2fI%2FTlTvx7CbuMXfmsZhVC4EYsPoyTJdA6HVSJi544%2Fldhh007OUXQudEtueUo0CuW6yFSPhUtwNIWJwvdpY4oQ4IOE%2F2Bm%2F8%2FKncij2bFxANNB6c18DvOcSKQDWi8G4jAnZZmMVym7pv2LMAY3HqoMOFoC85qxA6p10cRiP0mX6UclE7ZKMD7mT0euekcc%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7K5koDgYw but now you know what you're looking for!

For the passenger @Snakebite68 I just want to get it so I can set up another bag on top of my panniers, just to have more anchor points for it to be attached if that makes sense. It's 2000, not sure about version tho
-
The first question appears to be, for the rider or passenger? The second is: What year, what version? 2000? 2001? 2002? 2004? 070A, 070B, 120A, 120B?

DT125LC Mk3 No power valve where there should be one!
increasing replied to JBelly's topic in Classics
Hello and welcome! I will fit the power valve, is it difficult to buy try at a motorcycle disassembly, local websites for motorcycle parts or eBay where you have the best chance of finding the parts. Good luck -

Hi all, I am finally sorting out the old DT125LC (1986) we've had in the shed for years. All stripped down, repainting lots of bits and in evenings doing the engine. Will be replacing seals and bearings etc. But the cylinder is worrying me since there is the space for the power valve with both end caps fitted but on opening it up it revealed there is no power valve in there. When we bought the bike years ago it was running and tootled around the farmers yard I bought it from but was in such a state that it was not fully testable. So I'm wondering if once rebuilt whether the engine will run well without a power valve fitted or will I just have loads of issues getting it to run properly like that? Lots of carbon build up on the inside of the end cap I took off so looks like it may have been run like that for a while. Was this possibly something owners did back in the day? Anyway, hoping someone on here has some thoughts. Tried looking for a second hand power valve to put in there but they seem quite rare. Can upload pics if needed. Thanks in advance.

What motor oil is recommended to use on the XS500 … Have some other old 4-strokes that I use 10W-40 Semi Synthetic JASO MA2 on that work very well.

sorry but this section is for form issues not bike issues. I'll move it to the relevant section.

Hi there, a warm welcome from us all, Nice collection of big bikes you have there too. I recently answered a similar question about registration here. https://yamahaclub.com/forums/topic/47959-registering-an-old-bike/ where member mervin came to the rescue with the answer, Have a read that should point you in the right direction. I'd edit out your matching frame numbers to be 525 XXXXX, the first numbers relate to the model , but the last numbers are the serial number, and not that I don't trust people but i don't!! its a public forum viewed worldwide, and If I was unscrupulous, I could use your legit numbers to notify DVLA myself and clone your machine!!. Just looking out for you there mate. That aside nice to have you on board, look forward to reading your future posts.
